GIFT DAY APPEAL 2010

Plans are well underway for the 2010 Gift Day, raising money for our Annual Giving, and as ever we need your support to make these events a success. This year we are focussing primarily on our Church Mission Society partners, Peter and Jane Nott, who are on a three-year placement in Palestine. We need to raise £2,000 to help fund their CMS assignment, and to this end we are organising a series of Gift Day events as follows:

Please get these dates into your diary now!

The Quiz Night needs teams of 4, so why not invite your friends, family and neighbours to join you to make up a team? The questions are definitely not highbrow, and an entertaining evening is guaranteed! The evening will also include an auction of promises, for which we shall again need your help. Nearer the time a box will be put in the church porch for you to write down your promised donation to be auctioned. This can be a specific item (eg. a box of chocolates), or a service to be rendered (eg. polishing silver), or an experience (eg. a balloon ride). All promises, large or small, will be most gratefully received. Again, more details will be provided in due course.

The Miscellany concert (featuring a varied and light-hearted selection of folksongs, spirituals and jazz from the local ladies’ choir) and the Palestinian evening (focussing on the Notts’ placement in the Middle East) will be further opportunities for you to support the 2010 Gift Day appeal. So what with gardens, singing, quizzes, promises, and Middle Eastern entertainment there is surely something for everyone. We very much look forward to seeing you there!
